Dr Tom Rayner

Tom Rayner is a Science Communicator at Griffith University, where he leads stakeholder engagement, impact evaluation and digital communication for The Global Wetlands Project. Tom's background is in freshwater ecology, as a Lecturer and Research Leader. He is now recognised as a pioneer in the development and application of researcher-centred approaches to science communication. Tom is a prominent advocate for greater authenticity in outreach, with a determination to inspire a new era of participation. Tom is also an award-winning conservation photographer and videographer, including as an expedition photographer with National Geographic.
